At the heart of this story is Pietro Migliaccio, who arrived in America from Italy at just 21 years old with little more than discipline, passion, and a deep respect for the craft of hospitality. In 1980, Pietro and his brother Giorgio opened Mamma Lucia’s in Brooklyn. For more than four decades, it stood as a gathering place for generations—welcoming both loyal neighborhood families and world-renowned guests, including Luciano Pavarotti and Isabella Rossellini. It was not just a restaurant, but a room filled with conversation, celebration, and soul.
When Pietro later moved his family to Florida, he found himself drawn to Siesta Key—its white sands and tranquil pace echoing his beloved Ischia, the small island off the coast of Naples he still calls home. That sense of familiarity, of rooted elegance and simplicity, shaped the next chapter of him and his families life.
In Sarasota, the Migliaccio family created Café Gabbiano and later CasAntica Italian Restaurant—intimate spaces where food, family, and tradition quietly took center stage. Both remain beloved fixtures today, continuing to serve guests under new ownership.
Today, that legacy lives on through Luigi Migliaccio, who, with several successful brands himself, now leads our catering division with the same reverence for tradition and the same uncompromising standards passed down through generations. Each menu is thoughtfully curated, each event handled with intention—bringing the warmth of a family table and the refinement of fine Italian service into private homes, celebrations, and corporate gatherings across South Florida.
This is not mass catering.
This is Italian hospitality, preserved—then personally delivered.

At Mamma Lucia's, we believe that great food brings people together. Whether it's a casual dinner with family or a celebration with friends, our dishes are made to create memorable moments and bring joy to every occasion.
